Q3A with 5 String Theory

Brueder Selke are delighted to share the stage with 5 String Theory:

5 String Theory is a solo project of violinist, composer and music producer Alexey Kochetkov. It is based on three pillars: the violin with five strings, live looping, and digital effects. Using these elements, Kochetkov creates ethereal compositions which range from dreamy soundscapes to truly dramatic high points. The work on 5 String Theory began in 2018 as Alexey was touring with the circus group Gravity & Other Myths. Later he applied the techniques he developed to his work with the film and theatre director Amos Gitai.

His compositions have appeared in Gitai’s theatrical works Exils Intérieurs and Yitzhak Rabin: Chronique d’un Assassinat. His music also appears in the movie Laila in Haifa, which was a Golden Lion nominee at the Venice Film Festival in 2020. Nowadays, Kochetkov keeps working on the first 5 String Theory’s album, and he will perform selected pieces from it at the upcoming Q3Ambientfest.
