Brueder Selke (DE)

The East Berlin-born, Potsdam-based polyinstrumental composer duo Brueder Selke, Sebastian Selke on cello and Daniel Selke on piano, also known by their award-winning alias CEEYS, presents the unusual piano duo album Marienborn. It is named after the former Grenzuebergangsstelle Marienborn (border crossing Marienborn), which is a memorial today.

Musically the album is mainly based on a selection of special samples. On the one hand, these come from a library that the two produced on commission for the Canadian content provider LandR.

The second package of the series, Prepared Piano internally called GO EAST II - Pianos, centers on two upright pianos from Daniel's childhood that he still plays today. One was built in the former GDR by Alexander Herrmann at VEB Deutsche Piano Union Leipzig and was damped here with moderator and felt. The other piano was made by the Steck company, a subsidiary brand of Aeolian Piano, a large number of which were made in Gotha, also in East Germany.

Midori Hirano (JP)

The first guest of the German brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke, organizers of the Q3 Ambientfest, is Midori Hirano. Her music is based on classical instruments, but it sounds very experimental and eclectic.

Cedric Vermue (NL)

Cedric Vermue is a Dutch pianist and a producer of neo-classical music. In 2019 he released his debut album
Left Upon Us , mixing piano with electronics and ambiences. Besides playing the piano he also plays church organ, is a piano technician and a big fan of synthesizers and electronics. At the moment he is working on a new project, with choral and religious elements. Mostly recorded in a church in Utrecht, it features a new sound palette with piano, synthesizers, organ, woodwinds, horn and a female choir. This project is scheduled for release around the end of 2022.

Simeon Walker (UK)

UK-based pianist & composer Simeon Walker has quickly emerged as a leading light in the burgeoning Modern Classical scene, following the release of 'Mono' and 'Winnow', his two albums to date. Simeon regularly performs and tours across the UK and Europe, has supported a variety of artists including S. Carey, LYR, Sebastian Plano, Loscil & Taz Modi, and performed notable live sets at Latitude & Timber Festivals. He is also a contributor to the first official Piano Day compilation by the LEITER label, alongside Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and Chilly Gonzales with his piece 'Reverie'.
